The Scottish Karate do Association was established in 1963 and was the first karate association in Scotland, and held the first Scottish National Karate Championships.

It is now one of the largest and most influential Karate Associations in Scotland.

The SKA championships were held on Sunday 27th February 2011 at Holyrood Sports Centre Glasgow.

The University of Dundee club achieved the following results at the

Scottish Universities Sport competition Sunday 2nd May 2011.

Results are:
Men’s Team Kumite - Bronze (Prabash Wijethunga Mark McCall, Chris McDougal, Ruaridh Soutar)
Women’s Team Kumite - Bronze (Stephanie Kerr, Elizabeth Hardman, Sarah Layden)
Women’s Senior Kumite, Stephanie Kerr- Silver
Women’s Novice Kumite, Sarah Layden - Bronze
Men’s Senior Kumite, Mark McCall- Bronze
